The dumper ticket is where most plant careers start: it’s the quickest CPCS category to obtain and almost every groundworks and civils site needs dumper drivers. Our dumper training covers loading, hauling, tipping, ramps and confined movement, then the CPCS A09 theory and practical tests.

Like all our courses, you train at our Staffordshire centre on machines we own, with a maximum of two candidates per machine.

Why train with us?

  • Our own fleet — train and test on machines we own and maintain
  • Max 2 per machine — genuine hands-on seat time, many courses run 1:1
  • All in-house — training, HS&E tests and CPCS testing at one centre
  • 5★ Google rating — 210+ reviews from operators we've trained
  • Established 2003 — over 1,000 candidates trained every year

Which Dumper Course Do I Need?

CPCS A09 (Forward Tip Dumper) is the standard wheeled site dumper ticket most sites require.

CPCS A09B (Tracked Dumper) covers forward-tip tracked machines for soft or steep ground.

CPCS A57D (Rear Tip Tracked Dumper) covers rear-tipping tracked dumpers used on restricted sites.

Frequently Asked Questions

How long does dumper training take?

Experienced operators can complete training and CPCS testing in one day. Novices typically need 2–3 days. It’s one of the quickest routes to a CPCS Red Card.

How much does a dumper ticket cost?

CPCS A09 dumper courses start from £325 including machine, instruction and CPCS technical tests. You’ll also need a valid CITB HS&E test, which we can arrange.

Is the dumper ticket a good first CPCS card?

Yes — it’s the most common entry point into plant operating. Many candidates pair the dumper with the ride-on roller (A31) in the same week to become immediately useful to groundworks contractors.
